Review: MSP Valet Parking at Terminal 1

May 2, 2019 by user 1 Comment

I had heard about valet parking at MSP Terminal before traveling to ng-conf this week, but I couldn’t find any reviews or any additional details other than the limited info provided by the MSP parking site and a four-year-old yelp review.

I wouldn’t usually use valet parking at an airport, but I didn’t want to risk losing my only key (different story) by taking it with me and the valet situation was such a mystery that I thought I would take a chance and check it out.

Getting to MSP Terminal 1 Valet Parking

As you drive into terminal one, head in the direction of the ramp parking on the left side, go slow and pay attention to the signs. You will stay to the right of the ramp parking entrance on the left (difficult to explain) There is a sign that mentions commercial vehicles only on the left – you will want to stay to the right of that.

Eventually, you will pull up to a booth with an arm where you will be greeted by security to check your vehicle’s trunk, the overall inside of your vehicle and walk around with a mirror.

After security checks your vehicle, the arm gets lifted, and you are allowed into what looks almost like a rental car return area. After parking, a valet attendant took my key and provided me with a claim ticket. As a bonus, I added the $6 carwash.

I am still at ng-conf right now and will provide an update after I collect my vehicle to follow-up on the outcome of my experience.

Picking up my car was just as easy as any other valet service. After paying, I was handed a claim ticket, collected my car and drove off. They also did an excellent job with the carwash. For anyone looking for a different parking option at the airport, especially in the winter, I highly recommend.

Thanks for the review. How was it getting from where you dropped the car off to the actual gate?
