Feel free to customize my IT Resume Template any way you want. I do however recommend using standard (readable) fonts. Font size should be no less than 10pt. Acceptable fonts are in the arial, helvetica, sans-serif family.
If you don’t have Microsoft Word, download the Richtext version. The Richtext version will work with any standard word processor that has been packaged with your computer (Wordpad).
If you would like a Microsoft Word worthy wordprocessor, I recommend Open Office. Open Office is compatable with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files. You can download it here:

Excellent template.
I too have been an IT recruiter for many years, and I like the resumes that are closest to this template the best. It conveys a lot of information quickly and is easy to scan over the resume.
I would further recommend that it is important to not have too much irrelevant information on your resume…and your resume does not have to include everything. I mention this because often my first scan of a resume only gets 10 seconds. So the less irrelevant info I have to wade through, the better.
For example, you don’t have to mention you know Visual Basic in your list of technical skills – if the job looks like it will not need Visual Basic. I know the technical skills section gets a bit long at times, and it is important to tailor your resume to the job being applied. Part of that is deleting what is not necessary.
